 | Comment: L: The Nebra "Himmelsscheibe" depicts the Sun, two crescent Moons, & theseven stars of the Pleiades It dates from ca. 1800 B.C., has a diameter of 30 cm, & weighs almost five pounds. "The Nebra sky disk features the oldest concrete depiction of the cosmos worldwide. ... The UNESCO Memory of the World Register termed [it] "one of the most important archaeological finds of the twentieth century. -- (wikipedia, "Sky Disk") R: The "Triply Ultraviolet Sun" image was created on occasion of a rare Venus Transit over the solar disk in June 2012 (see AstorPic Description). Venus Transits have happened in the recent past, with an eight-year interval, at best twice a centur:. 2004 & 2012 ; NONE on the 1900s ; 1874 & 1882 ; 17cc & 17vv.
